Is it crazy that I'm putting a Sailor Moon piece of fan art in my portfolio? No, not at all. Let's not be ridiculous. Sailor Moon was a big part of my childhood and inspired me so much — strong, intelligent, kind-hearted, no-nonsense female characters kicking butt (and often saving their male counterparts).
For The Gallalery's Moon Prism Power show, organized by Amy Wibowo and Jeany Ngo, I created this landscape of of Tokyo at night, stylized in the Sailor Moon series' approach to painting backgrounds. (Seriously though, if you ever want to get lost in a world of luscious, pastel cityscapes, go check some of them out).
The original piece has been sold, but you can view the digital version below.
